Classical to jazz to funk. Real music theory taught at the keyboard — see the chords, hear the harmony, play it.
First lesson free · keyboard at the studio · no commitment
Piano is the clearest instrument for understanding how music works. Every key is exactly one note. Chord structure, harmonic movement, and theory all become visible under your hands. Lessons here aren't about playing classical pieces perfectly — they're about real musicianship: reading, hearing chord changes, and developing the independence to play left and right hands together.
Simon is a working musician and producer rooted in funk and soul. You learn piano the way it's played in real music — with intention and an ear for what sounds right.
Absolutely. Piano's layout is intuitive — each key is exactly one note — which makes it easier to learn music theory and develop hand independence. Most beginners play recognizable melodies within the first few lessons.
Not for the trial — a keyboard is at the studio. To practice at home, an 88-key weighted keyboard (under $300) is the standard starter; it teaches proper technique and works for years. Simon can recommend instruments at any budget.
Six and up, though readiness varies. Younger kids focus on note reading, hand position, and simple melodies. Adults start anytime — many of Simon's strongest students are in their 30s, 40s, and beyond.
